Iss was Du liest

Was würde dann zu LoL’s derzeitiger Lektüre, Henry Hitchings Dr Johnson’s Dictionary passen? Vielleicht Gurkensalat?

It has been a common saying of physicians in England, that a cucumber should be well sliced, and dressed with pepper and vinegar, and then thrown out, as good for nothing.

Oder Porridge? Johnson’s Definition von “oats”: a grain, which in England is generally given to horses, but in Scotland supports the people.

So definiert er “lunch” als as much food as one’s hand can hold und zum Abendessen meint er: For my part, now, I consider supper as a turnpike through which one must pass, in order to get to bed.

Mmh, vielleicht sollte ich mir ganz schnell Roald Dahls Charlie and the Chocolate Factory besorgen…
