What’s the best way to spend a pleasant evening?
“How pleasant it is to spend an evening in this way! I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading!”
“Spoken like one who has never known the ecstasy of holding a still-beating heart in her hand”, said Darcy.
Reading Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith (978-1-59474-334-4) at the moment. Rather strange, the subtitle “Now with Ultraviolent Zombie Hayhem” is certainly appropriate. There are “unmentionables”, slaughter and bloodshed galore. The Bennet daughters are all Shaolin-trained ultra-warriors and Elizabeth in particular is rather ruthless and willing to kill anyone, undead or alive, who hurts her or her sisters’ honour and pride. Even though it’s very close to the original, there’s no comparison language-wise. It’s rather weird and gory, but also quite amusing at times.

The ISBN should read 978-1-59474-334-4, I think (one “3″ missing).
Thanks for the recommendation.
@Clemens Yes, you’re right, thanks. I’ve corrected it now in my post as well.
